The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another operational breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on criminal activities across the state, with the arrest of three suspected armed robbers and recovery of exhibits including a motorcycle, machete, and mobile phones.

The suspects — Abdullahi Mustapha (20), Salisu Sannusi (30), and Jamiu Sahidu (26) — were apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m. by patrol officers stationed along Car Wash Bus Stop near First Bank in the Idimu area of Lagos.

According to the Command, the suspects were intercepted while riding a Bajaj motorcycle. A search conducted on them led to the recovery of a concealed machete, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, one power bank, and some suspected stolen cash. The motorcycle, with registration number AKD 40 OM, was reportedly used in their criminal operations.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects had been involved in a series of robberies targeting unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing scenes of attack. They are currently in police custody as investigations continue, with efforts ongoing to ensure prosecution in accordance with the law.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Lagos State. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies using the Command’s emergency lines.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday, April 10, 2026, in Ikeja.
