Owu Youth Forum Set to Kick Off Odun Omo Olowu 2025 with Grand Triple Event

The youth of Owu Kingdom are set to herald the highly anticipated Odun Omo Olowu 2025 festival in grand style with a landmark day featuring three major events on Monday, October 20, 2025 

Under the guidance of HRM Alayeluwa Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo, Otileta VII, the Olowu of Owu, the Owu Youth Forum has curated a programme aimed at deepening community bonds, celebrating heritage, and empowering the next generation of leaders.

The day's events are designed to link tradition with forward-looking development:

 In the afternoon ( Woro): Horse-Ride Procession, a ceremonial equestrian display where representatives from Owu townships participate in a procession to officially pay homage to the Olowu, marking the formal start of the festival. Starts and ends at the Palace of the Olowu, Abeokuta. 3:00 PM. A Symposium, an intellectual gathering focused on the theme: From Roots to Rise, with the topic, "The Role of Youth in Development". The session aims to chart pathways for social, economic, cultural, and spiritual advancement. | Starts and ends at the Palace of the Olowu, Abeokuta. |

Evening and night of Icons (Asale Awon Akoni) | The flagship networking event allowing Owu youths to meet, greet, and collaborate with accomplished kinsmen in culture, entertainment, business, and leadership. Features live performances, mentorship, and the honouring of emerging young leaders at Oba Odeleye Park, Ori-Omi, Sokori, Abeokuta.

The Owu Youth Forum, led by Pioneer President Hon. Olawale Olajumoke**, outlined the primary goals of the programme: Strengthen Inter-generational Bonds, enabling youth to connect meaningfully with elders and established kinsmen.

Foster Belonging: Deepening theb youth’s connection to their heritage and community.

Equip Youth with Direction: Translating traditional values into ambition and success in the modern world.

The Forum extended its "humble and heartfelt gratitude" to the Olowu, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, for his wisdom and visionary leadership in creating a platform for youth and elders alike.
