Scam Alert: Fraudsters Impersonate Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede in Fake WhatsApp Investment Scheme
A new wave of online fraud has emerged, with scammers posing as Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, in a bid to lure unsuspecting victims into a bogus investment operation.
The fraudsters reportedly created a WhatsApp group named “Value Focus Club 60” using the phone number +234 915 708 8290, while falsely using the chairman’s image to give the scheme a sense of legitimacy.
Investigations and internal clarifications have confirmed that:
The Access Holdings chairman is not affiliated with any WhatsApp investment group
The company does not provide investment services or advice via WhatsApp
Any such claims circulating on the platform are entirely fraudulent
The scheme was uncovered after a concerned individual raised the alarm, prompting warnings to the public to remain vigilant.
Safety Advisory: Members of the public are strongly advised to:
Avoid joining or interacting with the suspicious group
Refrain from sharing personal, financial, or banking details
Block and report the number immediately on WhatsApp
Inform friends, family, and colleagues to prevent further spread
Authorities and the company are reportedly taking steps to shut down the fraudulent operation, but public awareness remains the most effective defense against such scams.
