Police arrest 8 suspected cultists, recover military uniform, weapons

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its fight against crime, arresting eight suspected cultists and armed robbers in a targeted raid on a criminal hideout in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu area of the state.
This was contained in a statement on Thursday by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP, Abimbola Adebisi, the operation was carried out by the Bullock Tactical Team on October 15, 2025, at approximately 0530 hours, following credible intelligence.
“The eight male suspects were apprehended while allegedly planning nefarious activities”
“The arrested suspects have been identified as: Fadiya Ayodele,27; Lawal Rasheed, 28; Akerele Demilare, 27; Alimi Victor, 23 others includes Okiki Alufoge,25; Nurudeen Dolapo, 25; Agboola Samuel, 25 and Ayolade Victor, 25”
“Items recovered from the scene include: a Nigerian military camouflage uniform; a battle axe; an assault dagger; Several charms and Counterfeit $100 bills totaling $3,000”
“During preliminary interrogation, one of the suspects, Fadiya Ayodele, confessed to being the leader of the dreaded Eiye Confraternity in the area. He further revealed that he had handed over a locally made pistol to an accomplice, identified as Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large” Abimbola stated.
The image-maker further stated that the Command has launched an immediate manhunt for the fleeing suspect and is intensifying efforts to recover the said firearm.
The Commissioner of Police, CP, Olohundare Jimoh, Lagos State, commended the operatives for their professionalism and swift action, reiterating the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Lagos residents.
