Army probes viral video of female student’s disciplinary Incident at command secondary school in Lagos
The Nigerian Army has commenced an investigation into a viral video circulating on social media showing a disciplinary action taken against a female student at Command Secondary School Ipaja in Lagos.
The incident reportedly occurred on February 26, 2026, during a routine classroom inspection conducted to enforce school regulations.
According to preliminary findings by the 81 Division Nigerian Army, the student was allegedly found improperly dressed during the inspection and had reportedly handed over her shoes to a classmate prior to the exercise. She was also said to have drawn a caricature of the inspecting officer.
Reacting to the development, the Army expressed concern over the incident and assured the public that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.
Authorities confirmed that the officer involved in the disciplinary action is currently under investigation, while a comprehensive review of the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
The Army reiterated that the welfare, safety, and dignity of students in its schools remain a top priority, assuring the public of its commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and disciplined learning environment across its educational institutions.
