NSCDC floods Lagos with operatives as presidential project commissioning records tight security
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, deployed a large number of operatives across strategic locations to ensure maximum security during the Presidential commissioning of major projects held on Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9, 2026.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Corps (SC) Oluwaseun Abolurin, the massive deployment was aimed at safeguarding lives and property before, during, and after the high-profile events organised by the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
He noted that NSCDC personnel worked in close collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to maintain law and order, ensuring a smooth and incident-free exercise.
Operatives were strategically stationed at all project sites, including the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Centre, the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) E-GIS Data Centre ‘ABAT III,’ the Multi-Agency Building at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex, the Tolu Schools Complex, as well as the unveiling of a documentary book showcasing the achievements of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
The Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, ensured that personnel were fully mobilised and professionally equipped to handle all security responsibilities. Officers were directed to apply their expertise, tactical skills, and professionalism to guarantee a secure environment throughout the events.
Commandant Keshinro also congratulated Governor Sanwo-Olu and his cabinet for their strides in infrastructure development, commending the administration’s commitment to transforming Lagos State.
The operation concluded without any reported security breach, highlighting the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration in safeguarding
