In a sweeping nationwide offensive within just 24 hours, the Nigerian Army’s has dealt a heavy blow to terrorist cells and criminal syndicates, arresting 22 suspects, rescuing at least 5 kidnapped victims, and recovering a cache of arms, drugs, and illicit logistics across multiple states. 

Coordinated, intelligence-driven operations—backed by inter-agency collaboration—saw troops dismantle terror enclaves, foil kidnappings, and disrupt illegal economic activities from the North to the South-South.

In Kogi and Kaduna States, troops arrested 3 suspected terrorists, recovering 2 motorcycles and 2 chainsaw machines, while one suspect confessed to fleeing a terrorist camp due to internal leadership clashes.

In Sokoto, soldiers destroyed terrorist hideouts and rescued a foreign hostage held for over three weeks, underscoring the cross-border scope of insurgent operations. Meanwhile, in Niger State, troops neutralised threats by safely disposing of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), arresting 5 suspects, and demolishing camps linked to illegal mining.

Rescue missions recorded major breakthroughs. In Kwara, troops forced terrorists to abandon 3 kidnapped victims, while in Edo, security forces apprehended 5 suspected kidnappers, rescued additional victims, and recovered one AK-47 rifle with 9 rounds of ammunition. In Delta, a suspected IPOB operative was arrested.

The crackdown extended to drug and oil crimes in the South-South. In Akwa Ibom, troops arrested 6 suspects and seized a staggering 20kg of cannabis, assorted hard drugs, and ₦431,500 cash. In Rivers, operatives dismantled a sprawling illegal bunkering network, recovering pipes, hoses, ovens, receivers, and about 50 litres of illegally refined AGO.

In Plateau State, troops intercepted criminal elements, arresting 9 suspects and recovering an SMG rifle, a pistol, a revolver, 20 rounds of ammunition, motorcycles, phones, and cash. Meanwhile, in Abia, hidden sacks of suspected stolen crude were uncovered along the Imo River axis.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its determination to sustain the offensive against all forms of criminality, urging citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely information to secure lasting peace nationwide.
