Access Bank UK Polo Day Targets Global Support for Education of Vulnerable Children

Access Bank UK is set to use its annual Polo Day to rally international support for education-focused initiatives benefiting vulnerable children across Nigeria and other underserved communities.

The event, scheduled for July 4, 2026, in Windsor, United Kingdom, is expected to attract business executives, philanthropists, royalty and other influential guests committed to supporting social development through education.

Organisers said the gathering is designed to raise funds and strengthen partnerships aimed at improving access to quality education for children facing economic and social challenges. Over the years, the initiative has evolved beyond a high-profile sporting and social event into a platform for mobilising resources for educational programmes.

According to the organisers, proceeds from previous editions, implemented through partnerships with UNICEF and local organisations, have contributed to projects that provide learning materials, improve educational facilities and help children remain in school.

The 2026 edition seeks to expand the reach of these interventions by attracting additional support for programmes that promote inclusive and accessible education.

A major highlight of this year's event will be the presentation of the Emir's Cup by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, who will attend as the Special Guest of Honour. His participation is expected to underscore the event's blend of sporting tradition, cultural heritage and social responsibility.

Speaking ahead of the event, Access Bank UK Managing Director, Jamie Simmonds, said the initiative demonstrates how strategic partnerships can help create educational opportunities for children who need them most.

He noted that bringing together individuals and organisations with a shared commitment to education makes it possible to achieve meaningful and lasting impact in underserved communities.

Organisers expressed optimism that this year's Polo Day will generate greater support for initiatives aimed at expanding educational opportunities, with the ultimate goal of enabling more children to stay in school and build brighter futures.
