Interpol-Wanted Man Arrested After Armed Dispute with Hotel Guest in Tennesse
A hotel housekeeper who was listed on an international wanted notice has been taken into custody after a disturbance involving a guest at a hotel in the United States.
Police in Alcoa, Tennessee, said officers responded to a call on Wednesday afternoon from a hotel along Alcoa Highway following reports of a confrontation A hotel housekeeper who was listed on an international wanted notice has been taken involving a weapon.
According to the police report, witnesses told officers that the employee, identified as D’Andre Moxey, had knocked on a guest’s door to clean the room but became upset when there was no response. The situation reportedly led to a heated argument between the two men. Witnesses alleged that the worker later went to his own room, returned with a weapon, and approached the guest, who locked himself inside his room.
Investigators reviewed security footage which they said showed the suspect going into his room and coming back out holding what appeared to be a handgun before moving toward the guest’s door.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly told officers that the dispute started after the guest confronted him over a personal disagreement involving a woman. He claimed he picked up a knife for protection after the encounter became tense. Police said a large kitchen knife was seen in the room, along with a small quantity of suspected marijuana.
Officers became suspicious during the investigation and ran a background check, which indicated that the man was wanted internationally. Authorities later confirmed that he had been the subject of an alert issued through the International Criminal Police Organization over a serious violent offence in the Bahamas.
He was initially detained and later arrested on a separate local charge while officers obtained a search warrant. During a search of his room, police said they recovered a handgun, ammunition, and additional suspected marijuana.
Authorities said the international notice listed the suspect as wanted in connection with an attempted murder case, while database records also referenced homicide-related charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
