Ogun Police Roll Out Massive Security Operation Ahead of Eid-el-Fitr, Deploy Officers to Prayer Grounds, Highways, Markets
The Ogun State Police Command has intensified security operations across the state ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration, with the deployment of personnel and operational assets to strategic locations to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive period.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, said the Command has placed high priority on the protection of worship centres, critical infrastructure, and the safety of residents before, during, and after the celebration.
According to him, officers have been stationed at Eid prayer grounds, mosques, markets, highways, and other public spaces across the state as part of proactive measures to prevent crime and guarantee public safety.
The police boss explained that the early deployment is being supported by coordinated patrols, intelligence-driven operations, and surveillance activities aimed at deterring criminal elements and ensuring swift response to any security threat.
He congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan and wished them a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, assuring residents that the Command remains fully committed to maintaining law and order throughout the period.
Residents were also advised to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or security concerns through the Command’s emergency lines, including the Gateway Shield toll-free complaints line (0800-000-9111) and other response numbers provided by the police.
The Command reaffirmed its resolve to provide adequate security coverage across the state to enable residents celebrate the festival without fear.
