Crush terror networks, assert total dominance Nationwide- COAS tells troop
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has issued a firm directive to troops of the 4 Special Forces Command to intensify and sustain high-impact operations aimed at decisively defeating terrorists and insurgents across the country.
Speaking during his maiden operational visit to the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday, the Army Chief declared that the Nigerian Army Special Forces remain at the forefront of a resolute campaign to dismantle and neutralise criminal networks threatening Nigeria’s national security.
Addressing officers and soldiers of the 4 Special Forces Command and the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Lieutenant General Shaibu underscored the strategic importance of precision-driven, intelligence-led operations in dominating the battlespace. He charged troops to remain proactive, adaptive, and mission-focused, noting that the evolving security landscape demands speed, surprise, and superior combat readiness.
Reaffirming his operational philosophy, the COAS stated unequivocally that the era of reactive engagements is over. He warned that terrorists and other violent criminals will find no sanctuary anywhere within Nigeria’s territorial boundaries, as the Army under his leadership moves to assert decisive dominance.
Earlier, the Army Chief received detailed operational briefings from the Commander, 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Brigadier General Umar Faruk Abubakar. He expressed satisfaction with the Command’s operational posture and training standards.
In a move to further strengthen operational efficiency and boost troop welfare, Lieutenant General Shaibu approved the immediate construction of additional accommodation blocks and critical infrastructure to enhance training capacity and overall effectiveness.
He assured officers and soldiers that their welfare—and that of their families—remains a top priority. According to him, a well-supported and professionally grounded force is indispensable to sustaining operational dominance. He pledged continued investment in advanced training, logistics support, and modern combat enablers to ensure that the Special Forces maintain superiority over adversaries.
In a symbolic gesture promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable development within military formations, the COAS, alongside Principal Staff Officers, planted trees within the cantonment—underscoring the Army’s commitment not only to security but also to ecological stewardship.
