Police Breakthrough: Dragon Team Nabs Six Armed Robbers, Recovers Arms in Ogun State

Operatives of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, have successfully dismantled a suspected armed robbery syndicate that specialized in terrorizing and dispossessing residents of their valuables. The breakthrough resulted from a swift, intelligence-led operation initiated directly by the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG). 

The suspects, identified as Shola, Pelumi, Gbenga, Zacchaeus, Tunde, and Saheed, were tracked down following a series of public complaints and the deployment of the dedicated Dragon Team.

The critical operation occurred on October 5, 2025, at approximately 2200hrs. The Dragon Team successfully traced the suspects to their hideout in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State, shortly after they had executed a robbery operation. The precision raid led to the immediate arrest of all six suspects.

The operation also yielded significant recoveries including 2 locally made pistols; 30 live cartridges and a wine-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number KNN 383 BU

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police extended strong commendation to residents, stressing that public information was crucial to the success of the operation.

The AIG reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining a secure and peaceful environment and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to the Police in the collective effort to build a safer society.
