CRAN Congratulates Force PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Promotion to Assistant Commissioner of Police
The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has congratulated the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, on his well-deserved promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, by the President of CRAN, Lekan Olabulo, described the promotion as a fitting recognition of ACP Hundeyin’s professionalism, intellectual depth, and outstanding performance in managing the critical interface between the Nigeria Police Force and the public.
According to him , ACP Hundeyin’s tenure as Force PRO has been marked by effective communication, transparency, and constructive engagement with the media, attributes that have significantly strengthened public trust, improved information flow, and enhanced public understanding of police operations.
CRAN also commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for approving the promotion, noting that the decision reflects the IGP’s commitment to merit, competence, and institutional excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
“ACP Hundeyin has consistently demonstrated a strategic and responsible approach to information management, striking a delicate balance between operational sensitivity and the public’s right to accurate and timely information,” the statement said.
The Association noted that his leadership has helped redefine police-media relations by promoting openness, professionalism, and accuracy in security communication, thereby setting a standard worthy of emulation across the Force.
CRAN further described the promotion as a significant morale booster for officers nationwide, applauding the Police leadership for consistently rewarding hard work, integrity, and excellence.
The Association expressed confidence that ACP Benjamin Hundeyin will bring the same commitment, innovation, and professionalism to his new rank and expanded responsibilities.
CRAN reaffirmed its readiness to sustain and strengthen its collaborative partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in the areas of responsible crime reporting, public enlightenment, and enhanced security communication across the country.
