Patricia Bright Reins At GTCO Fashion Weekend, Gives Messages To Impact Audience
A global multi-award winner entrepreneur and content creator with 4 million spanning the globe, Patricia Bright, has reigned with impactful and excitement segment during the second masterclass of GTCO Fashion Weekend titled: “Style Influence and Everything in Between Creating Your online world” held on Saturday at the GTCO fashion centre in Lagos.
The contents creator which has grown over the last 15years through her eponymous YouTube channel and also the largest fashion and beauty channel in UK expressed her conversational manner and enviable style that makes her a favourite of many millennial.
She explained that contents was not an easy thing to creates and telling someone to work harder is scary
“ I was very focused on where I wanted to be, though it was very difficult and telling someone to work harder is scary, I know, It's not the answer that everybody wants to hear”
“Until you reach something like a tipping point. it's about your finances, I'm not going to tell anybody that without savings or foundation you should quit your job and follow your dreams but the simple thing is that get your savings and resources together, have a strategy, plan, invest in your idea and see if you will get the returns on that. If you don't, then go back, earn some more money and start again. But definitely you will have a backing”
So for instance, on YouTube, there's the program called AdSense. All of the money is from advertising revenue. So if you are part of the partner program, you will receive advertising revenue and that's how people make money”
She also stated that TikTok does not make you any money from producing content for free and that’s why she actually don't like TikTok because people put free content out all the time and they're not paid. Whereas Snapchat has an advertising model.
“So I'd rather put content on Snapchat, it’s where people get paid that they need to put content out” “Instagram doesn't also pay you for putting content out, but Facebook does”
“So again, working out on which platforms provide revenue is super important “Bright said.
She stated further that the next level is the concept of collaborations, working with brands, working with advertisers who pay you to put your content out for an audience while another level will be by producing something of value that you would be able to actually make a return
She stressed that if you're not getting paid by someone else to sell their product, create your own product that you can make revenue on and sell that to a warm audience.
She said there's so many ways to make money on the internet and all you need to do is to be super strategic about it.
The Awards winner noted that content itself not necessarily a product but It's everything around it that actually generates revenue.
“I think that's what people don't necessarily understand”
“ They're just creating, investing, they're not getting anything in return it’s because they're not strategic enough on the direction that they should go”
“So do a little research, find out how you can make on the content that you produce and test the model.
“ It's very insightful. Like I work with my sister, my cousin, I hire people that I absolutely love”
“So when I'm with them creating together, It doesn't feel painful. If it got to that, then I would probably change what I'm doing and think of of doing something else or navigating it in a different way”
“But I think it's about finding that synergy between work and enjoying what you're doing and feel like you're getting back from it” Bright advised
She added that when you love what you do, it doesn't feel painful
“Having that balance is really important when you love what you do, it doesn't feel painful for you” She said.
