Fraud At Brila FM Latest: Babafemi Raji's Subterfuge Apology Condemned

Followers of the multi-million-naira fraud and cyberbullying cases involving some former staff members of Brila FM, particularly Mr Babafemi Raji, also known as Topmost Striker, have condemned his disingenuous public apology regarding the orchestrated cyberbullying and social media attacks aimed at maligning the reputation of the media group and its founder, Dr Larry Izamoje, who was also his former boss and mentor.

Recently, Babafemi Raji was arrested and is currently out on bail in connection with an alleged fraud of over N150 million naira involving former staff members of the media group over a five-year period. Other individuals arrested for their involvement in criminal activities include the company's former chief accountant, Ekerete Sunday, and Engr. Victor Sam Mpong Akakan, the former manager of Brila in Port Harcourt. According to our sources, all the accused have admitted their guilt and are discussing potential out-of-court settlements to avoid prosecution.

Babafemi Raji's case has been particularly troubling as he attempted to conceal his actions by instigating a social media war against Dr Larry Izamoje, intending to portray him as an unkind and growth-suppressing leader. This occurred before it was revealed that Raji was implicated in a well-documented fraud scheme that made him a target of the anti-fraud security agency in connection with the alleged theft of over 150 million naira. Before his arrest, he had posted derogatory comments and cast aspersions, leading others to make uninformed but adversarial remarks about his former boss.

It is surprising to see him now trying to present himself as honest by offering what he calls a "retraction and apology for everything." Observers of the Brila fraud case are questioning what exactly Babafemi Raji is retracting or apologizing for. As one keen observer pointed out, wouldn’t it have been more convincing for him to specify exactly what he is retracting to demonstrate that he genuinely regrets his actions? Perhaps Mr Raji, known as Topmost Striker, is still attempting to mislead his followers and the public. Otherwise, he should realise that one who seeks equity must come with thoroughly clean hands.
