Adron Homes Strongly Refutes FIJ Report, Demands Retraction and Apology

LAGOS, Nigeria – May 23, 2025– Adron Homes & Properties Ltd. has issued a strong rebuttal to a report published by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) on May 22, 2025, which alleged that the company failed to refund a land payment to a client, Mr. Solomon Oludare Akinbo. Adron Homes categorically rejects the claims, labeling them as "malicious, defamatory, and misleading," and expressed deep disappointment over FIJ's alleged failure to seek proper verification before publication.
In a statement released today, Adron Homes clarified its position, asserting that it has "at no point denied Mr. Akinbo his rightful plot allocation or refused his request for a refund." The company stated that land was provisionally allocated to Mr. Akinbo, consistent with his initial intention to build on the plot at Treasure Park and Garden, Phase 2, Shimawa, Ogun State.
Adron Homes emphasized that its allocation policy, clearly detailed in the Contract of Sale signed by Mr. Akinbo, requires clients to submit a formal written notice of their readiness to build before final allocation. This policy, they explained, is in place to ensure planned development and prevent undeveloped or abandoned plots within their estates.
Addressing claims of coercion, Adron Homes clarified that Mr. Akinbo had voluntarily requested their management for his building project and selected a design, leading to the preparation of a Bill of Quantities (BOQ). The company firmly stated that neither Mr. Akinbo nor his legal representative were coerced into this proposal, and Adron Homes maintains a policy allowing clients to engage any registered builder or construction engineer of their choice.
The company vehemently denied allegations of soliciting additional payments from Mr. Akinbo, dismissing such statements as "entirely unfounded" and an attempt to defame the company. Adron Homes urged the public to disregard these claims.
Regarding the refund request, Adron Homes highlighted its transparent refund policy, also outlined in the signed contract. This policy mandates a written refund request from the client, followed by the completion and return of a Refund Form, and the return of all contractual documents in Mr. Akinbo's possession for account closure and cheque issuance. Adron Homes stated that despite multiple official communications reminding Mr. Akinbo and his legal representative of these requirements, they have not complied.
Adron Homes expressed profound disappointment that FIJ published the report without adequately representing the company's side of the story or verifying the facts. They asserted that this "one-sided approach contradicts the principles of ethical journalism and has resulted in the propagation of false and damaging narratives."
In response, Adron Homes has formally demanded the immediate removal of the article from all FIJ platforms, along with a formal retraction and a written public apology. The company also requested the publication of a follow-up article accurately presenting its perspective and rectifying the misinformation.
Adron Homes & Properties Ltd. reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, professionalism, and upholding the highest standards of service for all clients, vowing to diligently protect its reputation and serve clients with integrity and trust.
